It is very important to wear the proper footwear for every person. Especially now, it is the rainy season and it is hard to find a footwear that would suit the climate. When you trudge through water and fight the flood, it always poses a risk on destroying a nice set of footwear. Also, it is prone to foot odor build up.

What a lot of people hate about the wet season is that all dirt on the ground turns to mud and wearing shoes not suitable for those times would really be awful. Some types of shoes does not suit the kind of weather, and thus shall be shelved during wet season up until the dry days come. In wet weather, black stains develop on feet or socks when you wear some types of black shoes. Also, flip-flops should not be worn during these days. They will only smudge your clothes from behind. If you wear suede shoes, it would not stand moisture and color will fade when put in damp conditions.

If not taken cared of properly, leather shoes might change its color to green. Wet shoes should be dried properly and should be placed in a cabinet. Since damp leather is very much reactive to heat, it will harden the shoes, thus it might form cracks when you flex it. Do not ever put them to dry directly under sunlight, they will be as dry as sandpaper. What you can do is to wrap them up in a nice manner and shelf them during wet season. It is a must to wear socks during this season, because even if it gets wet, it acts as shield between your skin and the leather. This will prevent bacterial build up.

So that your footwear would not flap and cause long dirt stripes on your clothes’ back, use the ones with straps. You can also use the sturdy rubber boots or sport sandals. Apply wax to your shoes so it would repel water and will prevent damage to your shoes. Cramp newspaper balls and stuff it on your wet shoe, so they will absorb the water from the insides of your shoes. White marks may be left when you stuff it with tissue papers. Rub deep stains with vinegar and add sole protector to make it water resistant and thus will prolong your shoe life.
