Every little girl of the past generation probably dreamed of wearing glass shoes after reading the story of Cinderella. Maybe this is not too much the case right now because less and less girls want to be princesses, but being a princess was certainly a 'hit' thing among little girls then and what could be more symbolic of a real princess than Cinderella's glass shoes?

Realistically, though, would you want to wear a pair of glass shoes? Maybe not. Glass, compared to fabric or leather, is pretty stiff. Glass is not stretchable, which means that your feet really have to be perfectly fit to your shoes if you don't want to suffer from unnecessary foot pains. The caveat here is that if your feet are perfectly fir to the glass shoes, it will be a lot more difficult to take it off under your dinner table when it already feels painful. That's too much of a hassle, right?

Then there's the issue of shoe damages. Glass shoes are generally made up of durable tempered glass. This is not the type of glass that make up your easily breakable glass, but is glass, nevertheless, and it is more sensitive to such external shocks than other kinds of shoes. Once you accidentally drop it due to some bizarre reason, there is going to be a mark right there that you won't be able to remove anymore. Say goodbye to the thousands of dollars you paid to get a pair of glass shoes.

With this said, it is quite obvious that glass shoes are not exactly the best choice possible for female footwear. You can probably buy a pair (and pay so much!) and wear the shoes for formal occasions once or twice a year and that's just about it. Will you be willing to dole out that much cash?
